Coiled Tubing
Coiled tubing, also known as flexible tubing, is a crucial component in the oil and gas industry.
Coiled tubing refers to a long metal pipe, usually made of low-carbon alloy steel. It ranges from 1 to 3.25 inches (25 to 83 mm) in diameter and is wound on a large reel. It can be several thousand meters long.
Applications
Well Workover: It is used for sand flushing, bridge plug drilling, paraffin removal, fluid displacement, acid squeezing, and nitrogen injection.
Drilling Operations: It can be used in underbalanced drilling, coiled tubing drilling and other operations.
Well Logging and Perforating: It can push logging tools into highly deviated and horizontal wells.
Production Tubing: In some depleted gas wells, coiled tubing can be used as production tubing.
